Best Environmentally Friendly Products for the Home
If you have been keeping up with the news, you probably know World Environment Day falls on June 5th of this year. Chances are pretty good you have given at least some thought with regard to where your garbage ends up, or the cleanliness of the water you are drinking. However, if you are like most, you probably wonder what exactly your part is in doing something to remedy the situation.
The easiest way to make a difference is in the types of products you purchase. For instance, with a minimum investment, you could purchase aerators for installation on each of your taps, where the benefit will be realized not just in the smaller water bill, but also in the reduction of water you waste.
You could also make a point to buy only products that use recycled packaging, are in themselves recyclable, or products that are permanent and only require refills, versus those that have to be disposed of in their entirety, as in the case of plastic razors. You should also use only unbleached coffee filters, rechargeable batteries and plant based household cleaners.
Making the decision to purchase these types of items will greatly reduce the amount of waste that ends up in the landfill as well as the amount of toxic substances you are releasing into the environment. The information party rocks on: World Environment Day: Cross River to plant 5m trees
